AN ASSIGNMENT ON UNDERSTANDING MASS PRODUCTION
The assignment had to be completed in a stipulated given time which was only 48 hours and had to produce 100 pieces of the product.
WHAT IS MASS PRODUCTION?
The production of large quantities of a standardized article by an automated mechanical process is known as Mass Production.
Mass production is also referred to as flow production, repetitive flow production, series production or serial production. The demand for standardized products in large quantities originated from military organizations and their need for uniforms, for example. Precision machining equipment has led to the large-scale demand for mass-produced products created at low cost and with a small workforce.
POINTS TO BE KEPT IN MIND FOR MASS PRODUCTION.
-A product has to be produced from start to finish which will require a division of labour with aspects of technical precisions.
-It should technical and precise that the other worker is able to produce the same piece knowing the technicalities.
-It should be low cost product which require the materials used to be of low cost as well.
-The product produced should be utilitarian which makes the probability of selling higher when invested to produce multiple of the product.
-The design made should no less no more when it comes to mass producing .

DRAWBACKS OF WALLET
It was an exquisite idea of producing a wooden wallet but there were certain drawbacks which couldn't be left unseen based on different aspects of functionality, utility and practicality.
Issues that could have possibly faced by a consumer was that even if we would have made the wallet by using material like china ply which is a soft wood , It would have still intervened in the functionality and comfort of a user while sitting with the wallet in the pocket . Wallet would have created discomfort which doesn't make the wallet popular among the buyers to really buy and it isn't a preferable outcome of a mass production.
The material used wasn't a preferred long term material for a wallet because the wood used would have bended along with the shape of hips which would have later destroyed different cards that are preferred to be kept in wallet. This just makes the product less popular and it doesn’t makes the mass production successful if the consumer doesn't buy it apart from its aesthetics that brings out an impression of rawness and near to nature experience .
PRODUCT UTILITY AND ADVANTAGE
The product is based on different utility aspects.Multi utility provisions have been designed in the box to perform different uses. The best part of the product is that the material used is extremely light and so the product is light enough to carry anywhere possible,even in journey.Certain key holes have been drilled on the back side of the box which makes the product to be space friendly because it can be hung on the walls .It can be placed anywhere in the room since it has an aesthetic value of rawness which synchronises to the environment exquisitely . It is spacious enough to handle the products of average sizes.The wooden raw texture takes us to the essence of nature and so this product metaphorically brings the nature back to the room . The wooden printing added to the surface of the wood made the user to be motivated by quote written on the box . A wooden box is the medium of motivation to the several now .
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The wooden box have been named as WOODY BUDDY which it truly is . It is a medium of motivating to so many whoever buys it . Every morning when the consumer would see that box in the designated place by the consumer, A simple box will give their lives a push . It has been built with pine wood with well finished surface . It is light in weight and aesthetically beautiful in a cuboidal shape. Simple in design yet useful in multiple ways. Wood printing adds to the aesthetics of it and makes the structure more powerful . A lid has been provided which increases its utility and gives a push to the beauty of surface finish of the product .
